Crosscut writer Feliks Banel reports today that KING-FM has made the switch (as of today) and is now “listener supported.” After 63 years of commercial broadcasting, KING-FM no longer has 60-second commercial spots. Instead it will have the more NPR-like “underwriting announcements.” The biggest change that KING-FM listeners will notice is more music.
